The labor day weekend is Canada's big bash weekend. People flock to Niagara Falls and fill every minute with fun and celebrations. There is something for everyone. The casinos offer non-stop glitz and excitement. The wine tours offer a chance to sample the world's best foods and wines. An animal adventure will enthrall the family with several animal exhibits including Marine Land.
The best events are on the Canadian side of the border. Book your hotel early. If you don't you'll be forced to book rooms via "name your price" bidding systems, especially if you are looking forward to a falls view and a night view of the fireworks, which are not visible from the USA side of the Horseshoe falls.
A rental car is not a vital consideration. Everything is within a 20 minute walking distance of each other. The closer to the falls you stay, the less walking is necessary. The Sheraton, Mariott, and Hilton offer the best views, but you must book months in advance. Do not fall for the term 'falls' view, as many hotels use the term, but are located 1 — 2 miles from the Fall's district.
If you want the true falls view than avoid the tourist area. Take a trip on the Maid of the Mist, and walk the tunnel under the falls. There is also a cable car over the whirlpool that offers an exciting view of mother nature's power. Drive down the strip to find the gardens, butterfly sanctuary, and the real historical sites.
Plan the trip before going. There is so much to do, no one wants to waste time wandering aimlessly looking for the best attractions.
