The
Queen Victoria Park can aptly be called the jewel of the Niagara Falls in the Canadian region. Established in 1885 the park is a visual delight all year round. Besides the spectacular falls view, there is a big landscaped rock garden, carefully laid out carpet bedding and a rose garden.
The spring season heralds the season of the awe inspiring daffodils. Nearly 50,000 daffodils burst into blooms, creating a riot of colours. Tulips and other international varieties add to this spring madness. During the fall season, the visitors can enjoy the rush of the rapids amongst the pretty chrysanthemums that fill the flower beds. During the winters, it's the bare branches of the tree that glisten with the icy mist that settles, adding to the winter charm.
Though there are fire works and events all year round, the New Year Extravaganza at the Queen Victoria is eagerly awaited on both sides of the Niagara falls. The Winter Lights festival kick starts in the month of November and continues till January. Thousands throng there to enjoy the big bash that's full of lights, music and firework displays. Live concerts are held on the New Year's Eve and the whole place
lights up like a fairy tale. The 21 Disney-theme motion lights are mounted every year and delight the young and old alike.
The Music bands play in the backdrop of the panoramic Niagara Falls, making it the best night of the year. The night ends with a huge display of fireworks over the Falls, which get bigger and better with every passing year.
