If you are planning on going to the Niagara Falls in winter, checking out the Winter Festival of Lights would be a great thing to do. This event goes on for a little more than two months. The entire city is transformed into a city of lights. Houses, restaurants, business establishments are all lit up beautifully. The scene of Nativity is also on display. You have candies and other such delectable items on display, the "light" version of course. The path leading up to the Falls is done up in bright lights. This is known as the Niagara Parks Winter Wonderland and has typical Canadian outdoor activities on show. A show of pyrotechnics ends off your day in a fabulous manner. There is illumination lighting up the sky, too. Enchantment of Disney has all the very popular characters from Disney captivating your kids. Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid are some of the more famous acts, all brought to life at this festival. The
Dufferin Islands has light shows of animals. You get to see some prehistoric animals roaming amidst trees that are also brightly lit. This festival while centering on lights has many other attractions as well. Musical extravaganzas by well known performers, food and beverages counters, casinos, are some of the other sources of entertainment. While the entry fee is free, the money that is given away by people is used for a better and nicer display of lights. Every year, a new event is added to make it more interesting than the previous year. The light display only gets spectacular over time.
