Happy Rolph's Bird Sanctuary in St. Catherines, Ontario is a bird lover's paradise. This are is home to a range of exotic and domestic birds. The scenery of the area is magnificent, boarder by Lake Ontario and filled with willows, tall grass and evergreens that nicely shade the area. In the area there is a large pond where many birds flock and can be watched for hours. From May to October there is a petting zoo onsite with a variety of animals in addition to the birds, including pigs, horses and other farm animals. The park is very visitor friendly with paved trails for wheelchair access, picnic areas and even a playground for children. The serene atmosphere is amazingly relaxing. It is a very natural area that will allow you to explore the true heart of Ontario countryside. The park covers over 15 acres of land and is located just on the shores of Lake Ontario. It is on Read Road just off Lakeshore Road. The park also boosts many different varieties of naturally grown flowers which when in bloom are a breath taking and surreal sight to behold. The park was first created in 1974 and has grown over the years to encompass a large area of the shoreline. The park also features the 9/11 walkway which is a tribute to the 27 Canadians that lost their life in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. The victims are represented by 27 varieties of trees planted along the walkway.

I have been going to Happy Roplhs for years.The interaction the children have with the animals is priceless.The joy it gives them to feed the animals,ducks, birds, is an experience worth watching
The walking path honouring 9-11 is heart wrenching, the view of lake Ontario is wonderful
Then we have playground and picnic area,with washrooms and snack bar
All I can say is go and have fun!!!
