Optimist Parks are popular through Canada. Visitors to the region can enjoy sporting events, family activities. Do not confuse it with the shopping center, which shares the name, and is in the downtown district. The optimist club is a men's service club with a mandate to help the youth in the area. Optimist International, known as The Friend of Youth, runs several recreation centers, boys home, and youth projects.
The park has been home to a wide variety of events, form the NIAGARA WOODCARVERS 29th Annual Show & Competition, to Gary Sinise of CSI:NY fame and his Lt. Dan Band, and many Slo-Pitch Tournaments. Some of the most famous, and fun, are the Bigga Tomatafest that is managed by the United Way. Another fun event at the Optimist Park, is the Rotary's RibFest BBQ, open to all.
Visitors to the region who came for an event do not need to drive far. The Optimist Park in Niagara Falls is only two main streets from the falls, on 402, or Robert's street. This makes it convenient to all the Falls hotels, as well as the discount hotels by the major Queen Elizabeth Highway.
Many of the events held at the park are affordable, making this a great place to take the family without going over budget. When visiting Niagara Falls, take time to learn everything available. Not 'all the fun' in the Niagara region comes in a theme park, the falls, or on
Clifton Hill. The region has so much to offer, 'off the tourist route.' Many of those events are held at the Optimist Park in Niagara Falls.
